A fontanelle (or fontanel) is an unossified gap of the cranial bone of the infant, The word fontanel areses from the French word fontaine which mean fountain. fontanelle is the soft membranous gaps of the infant skull, fontanelles are harden over time and become closed.
There are six funtalls are in the body.
- Anterior fontanelles – close at the edge 18-24 month
- Posterior funtanelles – close at the edge 3- month
- 4- Lateral funtanelles
